Working with care providers across England

Services

Everything we do, and what each one is for

Some of this is a half-hour phone call. Some of it is a six-month rebuild. The list below is arranged by the problem you have rather than by what we would like to sell you.

If you are not sure where you sit

Most people arrive here with a situation rather than a service in mind — an inspection date, a building they are about to sign for, a letter that arrived on Friday.

Ring us and describe the situation. We will tell you which of these it is, or that it is none of them. That call is free and there is nothing to buy at the end of it.

Where a piece of work is not right for you, we would rather say so on the phone than take a fee to find out slowly.

Not sure yet whether you need to register at all?

That is a different and more fundamental question, and it has its own page.

Do I need to register with CQC?

Registration and start-up

Getting a service registered, and getting it registered for the right thing.

Market feasibility and demand analysis

Whether sustainable demand exists where you are proposing to put the service. Before the lease, not after it.

Financial viability

Whether the numbers hold, built from real staffing costs rather than assumptions.

Business plan for registration

A plan the regulator accepts and you can still use afterwards. Those are not automatically the same document.

Statement of purpose and documentation

The document CQC reads first, and the papers that have to agree with it.

Interview preparation

We ask you the fit person interview questions first, in the order and the depth they are asked.

Registration variations and change

New locations, added activities, a change of registered manager — prepared so they hold up.

Inspection and compliance

Being ready, and putting it right when you were not.

Regulatory advisory support

Advice when you need an answer, not a project. The shortest piece of work we do.

Regulation 15 premises and equipment

Whether the building can actually hold the service. Cheapest before anyone signs.

Quality improvement planning

A plan that shows you understood the finding, rather than restating the regulations back.

Clinical governance framework

Governance that finds things before an inspector does, and produces its own evidence.

Restrictive practice reduction and PBS

Reducing restriction and being able to evidence it, not assert it.

Clinical engagement and MDT coordination

A clinician on a contract is not clinical oversight. Getting the structure right.

Mock CQC inspection

We inspect you the way an inspector would, while there is still time to fix what they would find.

CQC workshop

A working session for a management team that has read the guidance and cannot agree what it means.

Policies and procedures

Documents that describe your service, not a template with your name in the header.

Clinical quality audits

Audit that produces evidence rather than a score, connected to your governance.

Safeguarding and investigation support

An investigation that stands up — and a straight answer about when it needs to be somebody independent.

Enforcement, crisis and recovery

Different problems with different clocks. If something has just landed, ring before you read.

Crisis management

The first seventy-two hours, when what you do matters more than what you plan.

CQC appeals and enforcement support

Representations, factual accuracy comments, notices and appeals. The deadlines are shorter than people expect.

Service turnaround

Rating recovery and operational rebuild, run by someone who has done it inside a service.

Legal coordination and regulatory support

We are not solicitors. We work alongside yours and translate between the regulatory position and the legal one.

Money, growth and commissioning

Being paid properly, and being able to prove you are worth it.

Commissioning and tender support

Most providers lose tenders on evidence, not on price. Written by people who know what commissioners assess.

Insurance readiness and placement

Getting insurable, then getting insured. In that order.

Digital infrastructure and systems

Choosing once rather than three times. Requirements before products.

Commissioning strategy and local authority positioning

Being a known quantity before the tender is published, not after.

Marketing and growth strategy

Occupancy and referral routes for a market where the buyer is often a commissioner, not a family.

Finance and funding coordination

Structuring the funding case, and coordinating the people who provide it.

Buying, selling and investing

Most care sales that collapse after agreement collapse on registration transfer, contract assignment or TUPE. Not on price.

Acquisition and due diligence

The regulatory due diligence a corporate lawyer cannot do.

Buying and selling a care business

Both sides of the transaction, from heads of terms to the registration change.

Investment and exit advisory

For owners planning an exit rather than reacting to an offer, and for investors buying an operation.

Property

Buildings decide more than most people expect, and they decide it early.

Property development coordination

Care schemes from feasibility to opening, with the regulatory read running alongside the build.

Supported housing and care accommodation

Where the housing and the care are separate and the structure decides whether either works.

People and training

The manager, and everyone the manager relies on.

Management mentoring

Someone to ring who has done the job. Confidential, and outside your line management.

Workforce training strategy

A training matrix is not evidence of competence. We design and audit the framework; we do not deliver the training.

Sponsor licence compliance

How exposed is your sponsor licence? Eight questions on the sponsor duties the Home Office is currently revoking care licences for.

Executive search and headhunting

Registered managers and nominated individuals, found by people who can tell whether a CV means it.

Interim management

Cover while you recruit, or while a service is being stabilised.

Cannot see what you need?

Everything the firm does is on this page. Some of it has a page of its own; some of it is one part of a larger piece of work, and those links take you to the section of the relevant page that describes it.

If you would rather read about the situation than the service, start there instead: turnaround and enforcement, buying and selling a care business, registered managers, care property and growing a care business.

If you cannot see what you need on any of them, ring and ask. It is a short conversation.

Fees are quoted before any work starts. Nothing on this page is an offer.

Describe the situation. We will tell you which of these it is.

Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. If none of it is right for you, we will say so — that is a useful answer too, and it is the cheapest way to get it.

A paragraph about the situation is plenty to start.

Start with the situation, not the service.
