Children’s Home Registration
Ofsted registration for children’s homes is demanding and detailed. We prepare the Responsible Individual and Registered Manager applications and the Statement of Purpose behind them.
How we get you registered
Scope and plan. We confirm your model, the children you will care for and your timeline, then agree the scope of work before anything starts.
Build the application. We draft your Responsible Individual and Registered Manager applications, the Statement of Purpose and the supporting evidence.
Submit and support. We support you through submission, the registration visit and the questions Ofsted asks along the way.
Might this be supported accommodation instead?
For 16 and 17 year olds who do not need personal care or intensive supervision, it may be a different registration entirely.

Ofsted · Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
Responsible Individual and Registered Manager applications
Both prepared together, with the fitness evidence Ofsted expects for each role.
Statement of Purpose
Written for the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, describing the home you will actually run.
Location risk assessment
The assessment of where the home is and what that means for the children living there, which Ofsted reads closely.
Policies, safeguarding and quality of care
The evidence pack, built around the quality standards rather than filed against them afterwards.
Workforce plan
Staffing, supervision and training, evidenced from the day you open rather than promised.
Interview preparation
Fit person interviews for the Responsible Individual and the manager. Interview preparation.
Before you commit
Children’s homes are the most heavily regulated service in this list and the most exposed to a single bad inspection. The Responsible Individual role is a real one, not a signature, and Ofsted will treat it that way.
Location matters more here than anywhere else. A home in the wrong place — near particular risks, or too far from schools and services — can be a good home with a bad location assessment, and that is very hard to fix later.
Fees are quoted before any work starts. Nothing on this page is an offer.
Tell us about the children and the house.
Their ages, needs and numbers, and where the property is. That is what shapes the whole application. Thirty minutes, no charge.
