The terms on which MCB-HUB Ltd provides consultancy services, and the terms of using this website.

These are website terms, not an engagement letter. Actual work is governed by a separate written agreement for each engagement. Where the two differ, the engagement letter governs.

Using this website

The content of this site, including the free tools, is provided for general information. It is not advice about your particular service, business or situation, it does not create a client relationship, and you should not act on it without taking advice appropriate to your circumstances.

The tools in particular

The tools give indicative results based only on what you tell them. They are not a registration decision, an inspection, a valuation, a planning opinion, a fire risk assessment or a substitute for your accountant or solicitor. Where a tool tells you to take professional advice, take it. Statutory deadlines are stated on the notices you receive, not on this website.

What we are, and are not

We are consultants. We are not solicitors, insolvency practitioners, fire engineers, surveyors or accountants, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of them. Where work requires one, we will say so and, if it helps, work alongside them.

Engagements

Every engagement is confirmed in writing with a scope, a price and a timetable before work begins.
Fees are fixed where the scope allows. Where it does not, we give a range and explain what moves it.
We do not operate open-ended retainers that renew automatically. Any continuing arrangement is agreed for a stated period.
Either of us may end an engagement on reasonable notice. You pay for work done to that point.

Your responsibilities

Our work depends on the accuracy and completeness of what you tell us. You remain responsible for your service, your registration, your staff and your regulatory obligations, and nothing we do transfers any of that to us. Decisions remain yours.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Intellectual property

Materials we produce for you are yours to use within your organisation. The underlying templates, tools and methods remain ours. Documents bought from the store are licensed to your organisation and may not be resold or redistributed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
