Advice when you need an answer, not a project
Most of what goes wrong in a regulated service starts as a question somebody was not sure how to answer. This is half an hour with someone who has been on both sides of it.
Things come up between inspections
A safeguarding referral you are not sure is notifiable. A commissioner asking for something that does not sound right. An inspection finding you understand but do not know how far to take.
None of it is big enough to be a project. All of it is consequential enough that guessing is expensive. So it gets discussed internally, decided on instinct, and written up afterwards in a way that has to be defended later.
The regulator expects you to show leadership oversight and clear action where risk appears. That is much easier to demonstrate when the decision was taken deliberately at the time.
Not sure whether it is notifiable?
That is exactly the sort of call this is for. Ring us and we will tell you in ten minutes whether you need us for longer.
Ask usWhat it is
Three things, and they are the reason people ring rather than working it out internally.
Confidential, and outside your organisation
Sometimes the useful thing is a view from someone who does not report to anyone in the building.
Structured, not a chat
What happened, where the regulatory risk actually sits, and what a proportionate response looks like.
Written down if you want it
A short note of the advice and the reasoning. Often the thing that matters six months later.
What it covers, and what it does not
This is advice. It is not representation, it is not a report to hand to CQC with our name on it, and it is not legal advice — where you need a solicitor we will say so, and we work alongside them regularly.
If the answer turns out to be that you have a bigger problem, we will tell you that too, and what it would take to deal with it.
Fees are quoted before any work starts. Nothing on this page is an offer.
Who it is for
Registered managers
Who need a second opinion before committing to a position.
Providers between inspections
With a finding they want to close properly rather than quickly.
Anyone who has had a letter
And wants to understand it before responding to it.
Ring us with the question. That is what this is.
Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. You do not need to have the file in front of you — tell us what happened and we will tell you where the risk sits.
