Services · Registration and start-up
A plan the regulator accepts, and you can still use afterwards
Those are not automatically the same document. Most registration business plans are written to get through an application and then never opened again.
A business plan is a core part of registration
It has to show that the service is financially viable, that it is structured to run safely, and that somebody has thought about governance before day one rather than after the first inspection.
CQC wants clear projections, a realistic staffing model, and a governance framework that supports ongoing compliance. Not aspirations — mechanics. How the service will operate, how it will be funded, and how it stays sustainable when the first three things go wrong.
One document, not two
A plan that satisfies the regulator and a plan you would run the business from should be the same document. If yours are two documents, one of them is not true.
Ask usWhat it is
Three things that separate a plan written to pass from a plan written to work.
Sector-specific
A generic business plan template does not know what a registered manager costs, or why occupancy ramps the way it does.
Financially grounded
The projections come from the viability work, not from optimism.
Governance included
How quality gets monitored, by whom, and what happens when something is found.
What it covers, and what it does not
We write the plan. We do not guarantee registration — nobody honestly can, and anyone who does is telling you something else about how they work.
If the plan surfaces something that will not pass, we will tell you before we write around it.
Fees are quoted before any work starts. Nothing on this page is an offer.
Who it is for
First-time registrants
Who have never written one of these, and are being asked to produce it alongside everything else.
Providers who have been returned
And been told the plan is the weak part of the application.
Anyone raising finance
Alongside registering, where the same document has two audiences to satisfy.
Start with the plan, not the application
If you are registering and have not written the plan yet, that is the right order to do it in. Tell us where the service is going and we will tell you what the plan has to prove.

Written to pass, and to be useful afterwards.
