Ofsted registration pack.

£9,999 placeholder

A statement of purpose written against the Quality Standards, a children's guide, a location risk assessment template, and the Regulation 44 arrangements. Everything we would use ourselves, without us attached.

What it is for

Registering a children's home is a harder application than most people expect, and the difficulty is not paperwork. It is being specific.

Applications for children's services are assessed by people who read a great many of them, and what separates the ones that progress is precision about the children. Which children, with what needs, and why this house, this team and this model are the right answer for them. Generalities are visible immediately.

The pack is built to force that specificity before you write anything. The statement of purpose sets out who the home is for and how the Quality Standards are actually delivered rather than restated. The children's guide has to say the same thing in language a child would understand, which is the fastest way to discover whether your model is real.

The location risk assessment and the Regulation 44 arrangements are the two that are most often thin. Both are read carefully, and both are easier to do properly at the start than to rewrite under a request for further information.

Not sure you are ready to apply?

The readiness check will tell you which areas are behind before you spend anything.

Check your readiness

Who it is for

And who it is not for.

First-time applicants

People who have worked in children's homes for other providers and are now registering their own, and who know the practice but have never assembled an application.

Applications that keep coming back

If you have already submitted and are being asked for more on the statement of purpose, the location assessment or the Regulation 44 arrangements, the pack will usually show you what is actually being asked for.

Not for complex or contested cases

If there is enforcement history, a previous refusal, or a concern about a person's suitability, a document pack is the wrong tool. Ring us instead and we will tell you honestly what you are dealing with.

What it does not do

Worth saying plainly, because most people buying a pack are hoping otherwise.

It does not decide your model for you. The templates are structures. The children you intend to care for, and how, has to be a decision you have made, and a reader who assesses these for a living can tell when it has not been.

It does not make an unsuitable location suitable. The location assessment is a way of being honest about the area and the house. If the answer comes out badly, the document cannot fix it.

It does not submit anything. You keep control of the application and of what is said in your name.

It does not replace advice on a difficult case. If something is genuinely unclear for your circumstances, that is a conversation, not a document.

If you work through the pack and conclude you are not ready to apply yet, it has done its job. That is a much cheaper conclusion to reach at a desk than months into an application that was never going to progress.

Price to confirm

Pricing for the packs is not settled yet and nothing here is an offer. There is no checkout on this site.

If you want to know what is in it in detail, or whether it is the right thing for your situation, ask us. We would rather tell you it is not what you need than sell you the wrong document.

Ask which one you need. It is a much shorter conversation.

Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. Tell us where you are with the application and we will tell you whether this pack helps or whether something else would.
