We have run these services, not just advised on them.
The Care Business Consultants is a small multidisciplinary practice working with care providers across England. Between us we have registered services, managed them, inspected them, financed them, designed the buildings they run in and, on occasion, closed them down properly when that was the right answer.
Who we are
A practice, not a person with a laptop
Care problems arrive tangled. A compliance problem turns out to be a money problem; a money problem turns out to be a building; a building turns out to be a registration written for a different service entirely. A single specialist can only see their own end of that.
So we work as a group of disciplines rather than as one adviser with a broad job title. Clinical and operational people who have held registrations. Finance and business people with the qualifications you would expect and a couple of decades of using them. Architectural designers. People who have grown care businesses successfully, and people who have had one go badly and learned more from that than from any of the good years.
We are deliberately not large. You will deal with the people doing the work.
What that means in practice
- One conversation, not four. You describe the problem once and the right disciplines are brought to it.
- Nobody is guessing outside their lane. The person talking to you about fire safety is not the person talking to you about EBITDA.
- We can say no. A practice that does not need every job is a practice that can tell you the truth about this one.

We do not pretend to be lawyers, and we say so on every page where it matters. We do know who to ring, and we sit alongside them rather than handing you over.
Deliberately, nobody here is named on this page. The people who engage us know exactly who they are working with from the first conversation. What matters on a website is whether the disciplines are real, and they are.

One
We tell you what we would do
Not what is fashionable, not what generates the longest engagement, and not what you would most like to hear. If the answer is that you should sell, or wait, or not do it at all, that is the answer you will get.
Two
No open-ended retainers
Work has a scope, a purpose and an end. If you want us on hand afterwards you can have that, but it is a decision you make rather than a subscription you forget to cancel.
Three
We hand it back
Your manager runs the re-inspection. Your team owns the system. A dependency on us is a failure of the work, not a business model.
Four
Plain English, always
Nobody in this sector needs another document written to impress. Everything we produce is written to be used by the person who has to do the thing.
Five
We are clear whose side we are on
Whoever engaged us. If that is a provider, we act for the provider. If it is a registered manager, we act for them — and we will say so to their employer.
Six
We stay in our lane, loudly
Where you need a solicitor, a fire engineer or an insolvency practitioner, we say so on the day rather than three invoices later. It is written into the tools on this site.
Where we work
We work with care providers across England. London and Greater London in person; everywhere else by video, phone and email, which for most of what we do makes no difference at all.
Site visits, mock inspections and property appraisals are the exceptions — those we do in person wherever you are, and we will tell you honestly whether the travel is worth it before you pay for it.
