Registered manager toolkit.
£9,999 placeholder
Interview preparation, supervision templates, and the records that protect you personally as well as evidencing the service. Everything we would use ourselves, without us attached.
What it is for
A registered manager carries personal accountability that most managers in other sectors do not, and it is rarely explained to them properly.
Your name is on the registration. When something goes wrong, the question of what you knew, when you knew it, and what you did about it is asked of you as an individual, not only of the organisation employing you. That is manageable, but only if the answer exists in writing at the time rather than being reconstructed afterwards under pressure.
The toolkit is built around that. Interview preparation for the fit person process, supervision templates that produce a record somebody could actually rely on, and the habit of writing down concerns raised upwards along with what was decided.
None of this is defensive in a cynical sense. The same records that protect you are the ones that evidence the service, because a manager who can show what they raised and what changed is describing a well-led service in the only terms that count.
Check where you stand
The free check is written for registered managers and takes a few minutes.
Who it is for
And who it is not for.
Managers about to be interviewed
Preparing for the fit person interview, where the difficulty is not knowledge of the service but being able to answer as the accountable person rather than as a member of the team.
Managers who are uneasy
Where staffing, funding or a decision above you is creating a risk you can see, and you need to be raising it in a way that is recorded rather than mentioned.
Not for a live investigation
If you are already the subject of a concern, referral or disciplinary process, do not start with templates. Get advice, including from your union or a solicitor, and ring us the same day.
What it does not do
Worth saying plainly, because a manager buying this is usually worried about something.
It does not protect you from a bad employer. Records make your position clear. They do not make a provider fund the staffing you asked for, and they do not stop a difficult situation from becoming a difficult situation.
It is not legal or employment advice. Nothing here states your rights, your obligations or what any process involves. Those depend on your circumstances and are worth proper advice.
It does not substitute for supervision you receive. You are entitled to be supervised and supported yourself. A toolkit is not a replacement for somebody above you doing that.
It does not make the job smaller. It makes it legible, which is different, and mostly means writing things down at the moment they happen.
If you are reading this because you are worried about your registration, the most useful thing on the page is the telephone number. Managers routinely wait until a situation is formal before asking anybody, and by then the options are narrower. The conversation costs nothing and it is confidential.

If you want to know what is in it in detail, or whether it is the right thing for your situation, ask us. We would rather tell you it is not what you need than sell you the wrong document.
Ask which one you need. It is a much shorter conversation.
Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. Tell us what you are dealing with and we will tell you whether this helps or whether something else would.
