Adults' policy and procedure pack.
£9,999 placeholder
The full set, written to be used by staff rather than filed. Editable, and updated when the regulations move. Everything we would use ourselves, without us attached.
What it is for
Almost every service has policies. Very few have policies that anybody follows, and inspectors have long since stopped being impressed by a full shelf.
The problem with most policy sets is that they were written to be compliant rather than to be used. They are long, they restate the regulations back at the reader, and they do not tell a care worker at eight o'clock on a Sunday evening what to actually do. So staff do something sensible instead, the policy stays on the shelf, and the gap between the document and the practice is exactly what an inspection finds.
These are written the other way round. Short where short is enough, specific about who does what, and structured so a policy can be handed to somebody as an instruction rather than as reading. What is written down and what happens on the floor are meant to be the same thing.
They are editable because they have to be yours. A policy set that has not been adapted to your service reads exactly like a policy set that has not been adapted to your service.
What would an inspection find?
Run the check before you buy anything. It will tell you whether policies are actually your weak point.
Who it is for
And who it is not for.
New services
Registering or newly registered, and needing a complete set that does not read as though it was bought in a hurry, because that is noticed.
Services with a stale set
Policies inherited, undated, or written for a service that has since changed. If nobody can say when they were last reviewed, they are already a finding.
Not a fix for a service in trouble
If there is enforcement action or a serious concern, new policies will not answer it. What is required there is evidence that practice has changed, which is a different piece of work.
What it does not do
Worth saying plainly, because most people buying a policy pack are hoping otherwise.
It does not make you compliant. Buying policies changes nothing on its own. They have to be adapted, adopted, trained out, and followed, and the last of those is the only one that gets you anywhere.
It does not do your governance. Policies say what should happen. Audits and supervision are what tell you whether it does. Those are separate work.
It is not legal advice. The pack is operational. Where something turns on your legal obligations in a specific situation, take advice on that situation.
It does not update itself in your building. When the regulations move we update the pack, but somebody at your end still has to take the new version, review it and tell staff what changed.
The test of a policy is not whether it exists. It is whether a member of staff who has never read it would do the same thing the policy describes. If the answer is no, the policy is decoration, however well written it is.

If you want to know what is in it in detail, or whether it is the right thing for your situation, ask us. We would rather tell you it is not what you need than sell you the wrong document.
Ask which one you need. It is a much shorter conversation.
Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation. Tell us what your service does and we will tell you whether this pack helps or whether something else would.
